European recognised Specialist in Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology)

Romain Pizzi BVSc MSc DZooMed FRES MACVSc(surg) MRCVS, a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognised specialist in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, is Special Lecturer in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine at the the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine. He is also a veterinary surgeon at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland Edinburgh Zoo, and at Inglis Veterinary Centre in Dunfermline. His special interests include keyhole surgery in all species of animal, having performed surgery on patients form 50grams to 650kg in weight, and he has trained with notable human keyhole surgeons.

Yolanda Martinez Pereira LdaVet CertVC DipECVIM-CA MRCVS is a European recognised Specialist in Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology). She was previously veterinary cardiologist at both Edinburgh and Liverpool Universities, has specific interests in cardiology of zoo animals, non-mammalian cardiac anatomy and pathology, interventional keyhole heart surgery techniques, and congenital heart abnormalities. She has authored papers and presentations on heart disease in Komodo dragons and Lions, and performed research on heart sizes in wild mute swans.
